SnipReel is built so that as little of your data as possible leaves your device.

What stays on your device

Your projects and the media you import are stored in your own browser. We don't keep a copy of your projects on our servers.

What we process on our servers

• Media, temporarily. When we add captions, convert or export, the needed files are uploaded to our server, processed, and deleted automatically within 24 hours.
• Account data. Your email address, export count and subscription status, stored with our database provider (Supabase).
• Payments. Handled entirely by Dodo Payments. We never see or store your card details.

Service providers

• Supabase (sign-in and account database)
• OpenRouter and the speech and language model providers it routes to (audio for transcription, transcript text for finding shorts)
• Dodo Payments (billing, merchant of record)
• Hetzner (server hosting)

We don't sell your data or use it for advertising, and we don't use your videos to train AI models.

Cookies and analytics

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. To improve the product we count anonymous usage events (pages viewed, videos exported, upgrade clicks) with a random ID stored in your browser and the time zone your browser reports. No third-party trackers or ads, and we never sell this data.

Your rights

You can ask us to export or delete your account data at any time by emailing snipreel@griffintaur.com. Clearing your browser data removes your local projects.
